An experience

in relaxation

and a shift in consciousness.

Silent Mantra Meditation has been around for thousands of years. Deepak Chopra's Primordial Sound Meditation, Transcendence Meditation and Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School"s The Relaxation Response are all Silent Mantra Methods. Every teacher will tell you "This is a Silent Mantra, you think silently in your head." Most people can not afford the exuberantly high cost to learn from a teacher at the centers and resorts that offer a Silent Mantra method. The mission of this site is to make the Silent Mantra method available and very affordable to all ,at a low suggested donation. But if you have found a good teacher and situation with a Silent Mantra method that you are happy with, all the methods i mentioned are in my opinion the best way to start meditating and is the easiest way to deeply relax and experience the stillness of meditation.

This is a very simple method to profoundly relax the body and have a shift in consciousness.

I'm sure there are so many of us who have missed you. Your meditation program changed my life. Your method is so clear and non restrictive, it gave me the ability to finally connect with my higher being. I wish you well, and I'll be looking forward to your meditation program !

"I have been practicing various kinds of meditation for about 23 years. Ive been a Yoga Teacher for the past 10 years. I have tried mindfulness, Zen, Vipashana, Lovingkindness, and a variety of other practices.  I have gotten great benefit from many of them, but Silent Mantra, as thought by Ricky Gelb, feels unique. For one, we are guided not to try to do anything. This in itself is such a relief for my overactive mind. Trying has always become an internal struggle. Trying to focus on the breath, trying to focus on body sensations, trying to focus on Lovingkindness. I love these practices, but at some point my mind resists and an internal battle begins. With the silent mantra, there is no battle. My mind is free to come and go from the mantra as it will. After a while, it usually settles into a sweet space. Then at about 15 minutes, I usually feel a deep relaxation come over me. I am not trying to relax, but there it is. It finds me. I often find an increase in energy following meditation which can last several hours. Usually about 8 hours, and then I am ready for another meditation session. It really is a noticeable energy shift. This is he first time I have experienced this specific quality after meditation.  I often feel more calm and happy after mediation, but I do not remember feeling significantly more energy. This is new and welcomed!
